Brazil’s 19-year-old teenager claims she gave birth to twins with different fathers after she had sex with two men the previous day.
A new mother from Minerios, Brazil mentioned that she had taken a paternity exam to verify who her father was.She said that she didn’t know that her children were from two different men when she discovered the truth.
Tulio Jorge Franco is the doctor taking care of her. He said her case was extremely rare and called it a “one-in-a million” situation.According to local media, the woman wanted to remain anonymous said she had sex with two men and was then able to get pregnant by both of them.
According to reports, she said that she remembered having sex with another man. She called him and asked for the test. The results were positive.The results surprised me.This was something I did not know about and the babies look very similar.”She spoke to local media.
This is rare but not impossible.This is known as heteroparental superfecundation.It is possible for two eggs from one mother to be fertilized by different men.The babies share the mother’s genetic material but grow in different places,” Dr Tulio Jorge Franco of the woman’s doctor, said to Globo.
The doctor claims that there are only 20 cases like this in the world.This happens when the sperm cells of another man are added to the fertile ova of another woman during a separate menstrual cycle.
The babies are now 16-months old. Their young mother said that one of their fathers is caring for them.The mother said that her husband takes care of the babies, helped her a lot and gave them all the support they needed.
According to the mother, one of the men has registered at the registry office to take care of both of her children.
