How to keep your car warm during winter
Winter comes bringing with it storms, rain and snow. It is nearly unpredictable as to when a storm hits .
And the situation gets worse if you are on road, driving at that time.
It is best to stay off road unless truly necessary during the winter.
Researches made by National Severe Storm Laboratory states that about 70% of winter weather related
injuries occur in automobiles and 25% of it happens to people caught in storms.
Studies also say that the cold of storms can increase the risk of frostbite and hypothermia and can lead
to accidents due to fragile health conditions while driving.
How to get rid of high mileage car?
Taking in note all of these ,if by any means you are going out, take in note these simple precautions.
1. Give attention to weather reports on TV, radio, internet etc.
2. Make sure your cell-phone is set up to receive wireless emergency alerts which will allow the weather alerts to reach you.
3. Keep your car ready for winter by getting a maintenance job, inflate tires properly, top off fluids, get worn out wind shield wipers changed.
4 . If you are already on road and storm hits, seek shelter.
5. Before going out ,keep your friend and family notified of your destination and root. This will ensure
that in case of emergency, they would know what to inform the authorities for reaching out to you.
6 . Keep you survival kit ready in you car . That should include – First-aid kit, medication, reflectors to
signal for help, flash light, portable charger, snow scraper, tire chains, blanket/sleeping bag, extra set of
winter clothes, sand/kitty litter for traction.
7. If you get stranded, do not panic. Try to keep yourself warm, stay hydrated and stay in the vehicle. Call
for help and try to seek for attention as much as possible.
Following this steps can help you to handle the situation and stand a winter night. Just stay prepared for
the worst and hope for the best to come.
