Challan.. Challan.. Challan.. For the past few days, the new traffic rules had created a panic. However, for a good system, the government had set many stringent provisions in the new Motor Vehicle Act. In this, hefty fines were imposed on those who did not have the paperwork of the vehicle, did not follow the traffic rules. Under the new Motor Vehicle Act, all types of fines were almost doubled. But, now a good news has come for the drivers. Even if you do not have the documents of the vehicle, your challan will not be generated. The government has issued a new circular regarding this.
What is the new circular?
If you do not have the documents of the vehicle or you have kept the documents in the mobile app mparivahan or DigiLocker, then you can give this information to the traffic police. But, if you do not even have mobile at that time, will the challan be deducted? No, this is the new circular of the government. If a vehicle owner claims that his documents are complete and he has saved it in DigiLocker or mobile app, then the traffic police will not deduct your challan.
Why will the invoice not be deducted?
According to the latest circular of the Ministry of Road Transport, if the mobile phone is not nearby, the traffic police can check the paper of your vehicle through its device or mobile on its mparivahan or digilocker app. Through your driving license or vehicle number, the police can check the document of your vehicle. In such a situation, your documents will also be verified and the challan will not be deducted. But, if the documents are not found complete or are not searched on Digilocker or App, then your challan will be deducted.

This step has been taken by the Ministry of Road Transport. Because, there were frequent complaints that the behavior or method of the traffic police was very wrong with the vehicle owners. The ministry wants such news to be stopped. At the same time, those people who have all the documents, but have forgotten due to some reason or mistake, then do not forcibly cut their challan.
What to do if the invoice is deducted?
If you have complete documents, but for some reason you could not show them to the traffic police, then do not panic. You can avoid hefty fines by just paying a nominal challan of Rs 100. Within 15 days of deducting the challan, you will have to go to the concerned office of the traffic police and show your papers. If all your documents are complete then the traffic police officer will cancel your challan. But here you will have to pay a fine of Rs 100, because you did not show the paper on the spot.
