Aadhar Card: IPPB will create Aadhar for children
Although the Postal Department launched its own India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) some Aadhaar related services, it could not register for Aadhaar number for so long. The Center has recently given them final clearance to facilitate registration services in rural and remote areas. If all goes well, IPPB will launch mobile phones for the under-five age group in several post offices from November.
Aadhaar registration, data correction and mobile connection services with Aadhaar are now available in 74 post offices of West Bengal Circle (West Bengal, Sikkim, Andaman-Nicobar) directly under the Postal Department. There the whole work is done through computer. The Payments Bank also provides mobile banking and e-mail connection services to the customer base in some post offices by training some of the postal staff.
This time, UIDAI has given the necessary software to IPPB with Aadhaar registration clearance. According to sources, even though it is four months late, now the preparations are almost complete. Pictures of children and fingerprints of their parents will be taken for making Aadhaar. For now, this service is free.
