K Beauty stands for Korean-Beauty regime . The flawless and lustrous skin of the the Koreans have left people in wonders for ages .Everyone desires to have a skin which makes them feel good about themselves.
Here’s what the Koreans do.
They follow a 10 – step skin care regime to achieve the glass finish skin which everyone desires of .
You can also follow up a K-Beauty regime but should always take a patch test to check of it suits your skin type or if your skin is sensitive . It work wonders for people whom it suits but can cause your skin to break out if it doesn’t suit you.
THE STEPS ARE AS FOLLOWS –
The K-Beauty regime says cleanse and cleanse again .That is what the first two steps consists of.
STEP-1 – Use an oil based cleanser – Using an oil based cleanser helps to remove all the makeup more effectively than a water or alcohol based cleanser. It also helps the skin to stay moisturized and hydrated and doesn’t dry out the skin like other water or alcohol based cleansers.
STEP-2 – Use a foam / water based cleanser – Cleansing the face again with a foaming /water-based cleanser will help the face to get rid of the accumulated oil and all the dirt residues from the previous cleansing and leave your skin sweat and oil free and bright.
Using a foaming cleanser with a balanced pH between 4.5 – 5.7 will be good and a cleanser with pH of 5.5 is best recommended.
STEP-3 – Exfoliate/Scrub your skin – Use a scrub that suits your skin .You can use a coffee / sugar / apricot scrub to name a few. Scrubbing helps your skin to get rid of all the dead skin cells leaving it brighter toned and healthier. Scrubbing also helps to tighten your skin to some extent .
Take in note that this step should not be performed on a daily basis and should be included occasionally in your routine like two times a week and a maximum of three times if it feels necessary. If performed more than necessary, the skin can break out.
STEP-4 – Use an alcohol free toner – Toning is meant to remove any remaining impurities and balancing the skin pH. Using an alcohol free toner is recommended as it dries out the skin and leaves an unpleasant feeling.
Toning is not a must step to be followed and you can skip it if you like.
As the Cleaning part is now over ,what the routine focuses on next is making the skin healthy.
STEP -5 – Use an essence – Using an essence is one of the most vital steps in a Korean regime, use a few drops and pat it well in your skin and your skin will be left hydrated . It helps to heal the skin and also promoted cell generation on the skin.
STEP-6 –Use a serum/Booster – After following the above steps, the skin now becomes ready to absorb the food you give it . A serum is somewhat similar to essence but is a bit more concentrated. It targets specific issues and fights them like wrinkles, dark spots etc.
STEP-7 – Apply a sheet mask –Sheet Masks are rich in essences, vitamins and minerals .Putting on a sheet mask on for 15 – 20 minutes helps to lock in moisture and the added food you give to the skin leaving it soft and supple.
Remember to not put a mask for too long because it can work in opposite direction. That is, once the sheet mask dries in your face it will then start absorbing the moisture back from your skin.
STEP-8 – Apply eye cream – Skin surrounding the eyes are the first to show signs of aging. Eye creams help to keep the skin around the eyes tight ,prevents dark circles and keep it hydrated.
STEP-9 – Moisturize – It is one of the most vital steps and you should not skip it at all . It is an occlusive barrier to lock in the previously applied products.
STEP -10 –Apply SPF or Night cream – Depending on what time it is and where you are going apply them. If you are about to go to bed them apply night cream and if you are about to go out then don’t forget your SPF.
These were the steps which when followed works wonders for many people but if you have an oily or acne-prone skin then it is recommended to visit your dermatologist before starting any new routine on your skin.
